In the Beginning...

Old As The Hills was most likely conceived in the early morning on a winter's day that neither one of us can remember.  A mutual recognition and deep longing that if we go another day without following our bliss to write music and sing, we might just die.  Two western born gals, beautiful, hilarious, smart, (and modest!) recognize a kindred spirit in the other and a music project is birthed.  Truth be told, neither one of us is where we would like to be with our skills/talents. None the less, we mosey along the prairie sunsets, channelling the integrity of the sisters that lay down their epic tunes before us. Since mimicry is the sincerest form of flattery, we ride hard at dusk to interpret and learn their secrets. We also live to write and convey the music of our own minds with exaggerated humour and talking hands.

We will share our progress as it comes in real time.  It may remind you of a lipstick kiss on a napkin from Patsy Cline, or after a few libations, the crass punch in the eye from Calamity Jane.  Repelled or roped in by the gems that are our songs, we hope you can leave us with a warmer heart than which you came.  If you are ever lost on the trail, you can find us by the campfire telling tales of comic relief or singing harmonies of the ages, drowning out the whispers from the Foothills as they say...."your music is terrible".
